Fat Girls Guide to Life

Bought this book during weekend, and finished it in a couple of hours. To be frank, bought it since the title hit home. Yes, it really does. And well, I do like the pink cover. Looks girlish without too sirupy.Anyway, the book is written by Wendy Shanker, quite a well-known columnist, and I believe this book is her great success.Yup, it’s such an eye-opener. I’ve never been really slim myself (not since I was two years old), so I find this book useful and encouraging.
It’s quite confusing to learn that women, in this case, really obsessed with their cloth size. I do think as long as it doesnt take a special store and more than 3 hours trying before buying your clothes, then you’re fine. But no, they think if they can’t buy clothes from stores which sel clothes no bigger than size 10 (American size, not English) then they are doomed.
This book really teaches me how to love myself, and see the diet-need problem in a brand new light. I do not feel uncomfortable with my body, but apparently some people do. And yes, if the people are sensible enough, they will keep their mouths shut, but if not, well, you can guess what happen next.
So, whether you are a Fat Girl or a Skinny Chick (terms used in this book), this book is definitely worth-reading. You can learn from Wendy’s own experience, that sometimes being thin is not everybody’s job.
